MacBUS Meeting

Tuesday, May 25th Meeting: 6:30PM

Ben Romney & Linda McNeil
will demonstrate:

Google Voice — Google’s Telephony application, formerly GrandCentral, allows you to manage your business, personal and mobile phones from a central FREE application. Have one telephone number that never changes and that incoming number can selectively ring all your phones without the caller being aware which device you are using to answer their call. See how you can add a call number to your website. Digitally access voicemail and more. A tool to enhance your business operations.

Google Talk is another free application from Google that allows you to send/receive instant messages, voice and video. See how you can integrate this into iChat.

We need your input!
What future meeting topics would you like to see? Take our POLL. What other community activities would you like MacBUS to get involved in? Here's another chance for you to bring your ideas and suggestions - we've set aside some time to talk about future plans for our group. If you can't make the meeting or just wish to contact someone, you can email us at Board@MacBUS or iChat with us at AIM: macbusphilly.

Leave your meeting topics choices at the poll on the MacBUS website right on the front page.

Email the Board for your User Group Discount code.

MacBUS wants members to recommend shareware that they have bought and why. The board is interested in doing shareware demos for future meetings. Email the Board with your recommendation.

iPad
What's inside, how does it work

Dale Fletcher will demonstrate the inter workings of the iPad. He spent several hours going over the guts inside the iPad to show what it's future might be. Antennas, battery, circuit board placement connectors and a short section on the photo handling and the video handling. He got to spend 4 or 5 hours with a couple of the demo units.

It's hard to believe Apple could fit so many great ideas into something so thin. iPad has a 9.7-inch, LED-backlit IPS display with a remarkably precise Multi-Touch screen. And yet, at just 1.5 pounds and 0.5 inch thin, it's easy to carry and use anywhere.
